The Doctors

· · Kipp J Wingo, DVM
Dr. Kipp Wingo Dr. Kipp Wingo was born and raised in Edgewood, Texas, where his family farmed, ranched, and ran a feed store business. He graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor's in Science, and earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1990.

He started Van Zandt Animal Care Center (formerly Van Zandt Veterinary Service) in 1992 and is founder of Animal Medical Center of Forney (www.amc-forney.com) which opened its doors in 2006. His primary professional focus includes small animal orthopedic and laparoscopic surgery, canine and equine reproduction, and small animal dentistry.

Currently he is the Vice President of the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice. The TAVP is an organization within the Texas Veterinary Medical Association that promotes high standards of veterinary medicine through continuing education. The TAVP stresses intense continuing education as a qualification for membership. As a rule all veterinarians in Texas are required to complete 17 hours of CE (continuing education) annually to renew their license. Dr. Wingo completed 108 hours of CE in 2009 alone. In addition, he is a long-standing member of the Society for Theriogenology. Theriogenology is the branch of veterinary medicine which deals with reproduction. One of the Society's goals is to establish and promote standards of excellence in the field of veterinary reproduction. Dr. Wingo is the founder of Equine Reproductive Services (www.makeafoal.com), a horse reproduction facility in Wills Point, where he bred over 200 mares in 2009.

Dr. Wingo's family is paramount in his life, and consists of wife Tracy, daughter Cassy, age 17, son Cayden, age 5, and daughter Addison, age 2. In his spare time you might find him jogging down the roads of Van Zandt County, attending continuing education seminars, or avidly reading.
